Leisure Activities

2009

Throughout the first half of the year Ginny started to contract to restaurant San Giovanni and Barry commenced an interest in teaching by giving two voluntary days a week to Elford Primary School.

Devon/Cornwall tour

During a brief lull between gigs a trip to the south-west was taken and the following places visited:
Carter's Steam Fair Weston-super-Mare
Sunday - Found a great place along the promenade to park the van and were fortunate to see Carters Steam Fair - brilliant - but were unable to stay there overnight due to restrictions. A late night move was therefore necessary and we eventually parked overnight at Brent Knoll services M5 J22

The following day (Monday) we visited Bude and spent a few hours before reaching Newquay where we overnighted at the Griffin Inn. Tuesday we reached Land's End and amazingly bumped into friend Stuart and his family (also from Tamworth) - awesome coincidence - later we headed for Mousehole - and got stuck in their extremely narrow streets, luckily we were able to reverse and bypass the village.

Bodmin We overnighted here having mealed in the local Wetherspoons - thank god for these wonderful drinking houses - oases of comfort.
Wednesday we visited the amazing Eden Project, later overnighting in the van at Berry Head, Brixham.

Berry Head is an obvious visitors spot but is seriously overrun with dog walkers and their calling cards.

Lyme Regis - Thursday
We ended our brief tour of the south-west here. This array of beach huts typifies the town itself which is a very popular resort.
